Nature doesn't need more awareness campaigns. It needs people to actually show up.

Dharman began in November 2022 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar with a simple thought: many people genuinely want to help society. They just need the right platform, direction and community to turn intention into action.

Cities like ours now hit 44–46 °C summers, and children, elderly people and daily-wage workers feel it hardest. 200 native trees planted by 200 people in the right spots matter in three years, and matter a lot in ten.

Background

Four years, one steady climb.

  1. 2022–23Building the foundation

    Community welfare across multiple sectors: food donation drives, environmental awareness campaigns, cleanliness drives and youth & education initiatives.

  2. 2024Growing the green mission

    Environmental work became a core identity: plantation campaigns, seedball-making initiatives and workshops for children and youth.

  3. 2025Scaling the vision

    Collaborations with educational institutions, student volunteer programmes, larger plantation drives and wider seedball campaigns.

  4. 2026Creating a greener tomorrow

    Project Aakashbeej in full flight: drone and aerial dispersal, large-scale workshops, and partnerships with schools, colleges, hospitals and NGOs.

  • A tree for every recovery

    With JJ Plus Hospitals, a tree is planted in honour of every patient who recovers. That ties personal healing to environmental restoration, so a discharge becomes something that keeps growing.

  • Educational collaborations

    Deogiri Institute of Technology and Management Studies, MGM University, PSBA School, Agrasen Vidya Mandir and SBOA Public School run seedball workshops, plantation drives and volunteer programmes with us.

  • Road safety awareness

    A joint campaign with Mahalaxmi Electrical promoting responsible road behaviour and safer everyday practices: welfare work well beyond our plantation sites.

On 2 July 2026 the Income Tax Department granted Dharman both of the orders a charitable organisation needs: provisional registration under Section 332(8) (the provision Section 80G became), under which Indian donors claim deduction on what they give us; and provisional approval under Section 354(4) (the provision Section 12A became), which exempts the organisation's own income. Our activities are recorded as charitable, and both orders run from TY 2026–27 to TY 2028–29.

What is Aakashbeej: Seeds from Sky?

Our flagship restoration campaign. Volunteers prepare seed balls (2.5 lakh+ so far, well beyond the four workshops originally planned) and we disperse them across barren land by drone; 50,000+ have already gone out. Join the campaign.

Where does Dharman work?

Home base is Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, growing thoughtfully across Maharashtra, India and eventually international communities.

What are the goals?

Short term: more volunteers, workshops, plantations, drives and school partnerships. Long term: chapters in multiple cities, permanent conservation programmes, youth fellowships and community centres.
